Rolfing
What is
Rolfing?
Rolfing is a scientifically validated technique
of soft tissue manipulation and movement education that
was developed by Dr. Ida Rolf, a biochemist, in the
1940's.
Rolfing is aimed at re-establishing the natural alignment and
structural integration of our human body for vitality and
wellbeing.
Rolfing consists of some simple ideas about the
human body structure and its posture
1)
Most human beings are significantly out of
alignment with gravity
2)
We function better when are aligned with the
gravity
3)
The human body is so plastic that its
alignment can be brought into harmony with gravity at
practically any time of life.
Rolfing is not a cure for any particular
disease, but is rather a systematic approach that
attempts to restore balance to the entire body. This
approach recognizes that the connective tissue (fascia)
forms a continuous web throughout the body. With the body
in a state of balance, a person's nervous system, organs,
mind, and natural healing system can function more
efficiently.
Rolfers examine and assess a person body posture and
body alignment and brings about the body in balance and in
alignment. Rolfers
also examines other factors like scoliois, kyphosis
and also the feet and knees alignment.
Rolfing is a process of 10 sessions which brings the
body and posture in alignment with
gravity. Through this 10 sessions process,
Rolfers help to correct any imbalance in the body, stress
and trauma which has been in residue in the body for a
long period of time.
Rolfing also
benenfits many people who does yoga, improve their
stretching after the posture and alignment of the body in is
balance. Rolfing also helps many athletics like swimmers,
runners, cylist and many others who deals in
sports,.

Integration which was first termed. And in United States
now, there are already more than 6-7 schools which deals
with Structural Integration. The Rolf Institute is the
